Phone Service in CanadaMy family uses AT&T for our mobile phone service, and we're trying to figure out what we'll use while we're in Canada. AT&T has expensive roaming prices, so we don't want to use them. If you use AT&T mobile service, consider turning off your phones well before you get near the border. We know people who have been hit with roaming charges because they were unknowingly on Canadian cell towers while physically still in the U.S. Right now, we're planning to look for a cheap pre-paid cell phone when we get to Canada. We're also planning to take advantage of Google Voice. GV gives us another phone number which we can forward to any other number(s) in the U.S. or Canada. We'll give our GV number to anyone here who might need to reach us. When we get our pre-paid phone in Canada, we'll tell GV to forward to it. GV is free. Check it out. What are you planning to do for phone service in Canada? Post a comment if you have any suggestions for the rest of us. If you live in Canada, do you have any advice for your visiting cousins from south of the border?
