Olin Family Society

I've been working on Caleb and Belinda (Daniels) son John and his line. I had found that after Rosanna passed, John remarried. He remarried on 15 Jan 1898 to Amelia C (Smith) Perry. I lost the trail after that as they moved. I finally found a death certificate for John C. Olin in Surrey Twp., Clare Co., MI. The informant was his son John, also residing in Surrey Twp.

I had also found a first marriage for the son John. He married 15 July 1896 to Eliza (Pangborn) White. Then I hit a brick wall. So I decided to track down John C's daughter Ida and her husband George Myers. I had tried looking for George and Ida before but ended up on a wild goose chase. This time another researcher saw my post and found Ida and George for me. I'm still not sure if George divorced or left Ida or passed. But on 13 Oct 1881, Ida married Andrew I Myers, possibly George's uncle. It appears Andrew passed in 1888. Ida marries once again around 1890 to Clement Bliss. Ida passed 25 Oct 1917 in Charlotte, Eaton Co, MI.

I then began looking for George and Ida's two daughters, Alta and Abbie. Alta married a George Moll and they relocated to Los Angeles, CA. It appears they never had any children. I just found Abbie and her husband Fred Leonard Winters. They married 21 March 1901 in Michigan. Abbie appears to have passed away between 1907 and 1910. Fred is listed on the 1910, 20 & 30 censuses as a widow with two children, Margie R & Loy L. Fred and the children moved to Los Angeles, CA between 1910 & 1920. Approx 1925, Marjorie R marries Lester N Wallace. The 1930 census shows they have a son named Gordon L. Her father and brother are living with them also.

Just by taking a break from one brick wall to tackle another allowed new doors to open.
