Who says romance dies as you get older!

Once again with the John, Joseph, Joseph (Olden), Joseph (Olden), Caleb, John C., John C line. This time with the first John C.

We know that Roxanna died in 1890 in Solon Twp., Kent Co., MI. Still no luck on her final resting place. According to the Michigan State Census, John & his son continued to reside at the farm until at least 1894. We're not sure when John C I sold the property, but on 15 January 1898, he was living in Sparta, MI when he married Amelia C. (Smith) Perry. At the time, John was 76 and Amelia was 68. Witnesses were Mrs. M. E. Calkins and Miss Eva Mead. Amelia was originally from New York, NY and had been married twice prior. Her parents were John H. Smith and Hannah C. Fordham. Have to wonder why John C. II wasn't there as a witness.
